Gemserv supports regulators and industry bodies to optimise the effectiveness of their gas markets using our extensive expertise in the development and operation of competitive energy market arrangements and liberalisation projects in the United Kingdom and internationally.  Gemserv operates solely at the market level rather than for individual market participants, thereby allowing our experienced team to provide objective and impartial advice to our clients.

From the early days where the governance structures and business processes need to be designed and implemented, through to mature markets where new regulatory or Government challenges occur, Gemserv provides a co-ordinated approach to amend or refine existing arrangements. We provide an end to end set of services from the initial design of competition in a market through to the build, implementation, assurance and ongoing administration. For example, we are currently working with the Regulatory Authorities in Ireland and Northern Ireland to review retail system arrangements to support the Common Arrangements for Gas project while continuing to provide market entry assurance services for the Irish gas market.

In addition, we provide a range of business critical support functions to a range of pan-industry forums.

We manage the governance arrangements for the GB wide independent Gas Transporters (iGTs) Uniform Network Code, including the administration of the modification process.  We also provide essential operational services to the:

• Gas Forum;
• Association of Meter Operators; and
• UK Revenue Protection Association.
